Blade choke
Myy new Blade carbs have a fitting for a choke cable - will I need it?
Cheers
Chris
Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the
error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

I expect so, unless you are moving to somewhere very warm

I kept mine and hooked the cable up to the bonnet release catch on the sierra steering column. It works aright if memory serves, I haven't had
the engine running for about 1.5 years. Attaching it to release catch keeps it nicely out of the way and is there if I need it.

Not worth running the cable IMHO, I have run a few blade engines and not needed one yet.

I fitted one under advice and removed it because it's just not needed...

Yes, occasionally when very cold or been standing some time.
Only needed briefly to get it started ......Hmm, is'nt that why they have them?

I suppose it's easy enough to move it by hand if required in the cold or after it's been standing?
Thanks for all the replies

No it's not.
Well not at the same time as turning the key and pressing the throttle

Mines fitted. Makes it easier in cold and when standing for a while. I almost always use it initially

I have no cable on mine, and only ever need it in very cold conditions. Usually a blip of the throttle when starting is sufficient.
Though if I do ever use it, I only ever need to hold it on for about 5-10 seconds until I hear the idle speed up, then release.

Have to use my choke for cold starting. If I don't, I find that the spark plugs easily foul if it doesn't fire straightaway. Means I have
to remove them and blast them with a blow torch until the electrodes are cherry red before they'll fire again. Its simpler to use the choke.
