I want to change my os back to xp.I have a desktop from e machine and a copy of of xp.Anybody care to give me brief details how to do it
steve
I should add the main reason for this is AOL broadband "not responding" comes up when you click to load pages and the computer hangs a
lot.Doesnt seem to do it with explorer or firefox.Thing is I use aol for email and not sure if i can integrate that with explorer or firefox.

set your bios to boot from cd, insert the cd and reboot. The windows xp preos will then load, follow the options to reformat and install xp, and bobs
your uncle.
Make sure you back everything up first though, its not like xp to xp installs where you can save your documents folder etc.

As long as you are happy to wipe all the programs and data off the hard drive, just insert the XP disc (making sure that the bios is set to boot off
the cd drive first) reboot and follow the instructions on the screen.
"That thing you're thinking - it wont be that."

BEFORE YOU WIPE THE OS !!!!!!
make sure you have all the drivers for your machine before you wipe it !!! e.g network card, video adapter, usb ... and so on
also recomend you put them on to a CD rather than a USB stick as XP might not see the USB device until it has the USB drivers for the BUS.
Visat Drives do not work on XP

Make sure you have a proper XP install disc --- not a system restore disc from another PC as this won't work on anything but the original
system.

or ive heard people mention *nudgenudge* tinyxp and ultimatexp. Download either of these and burn to a disc using something like magiciso then install
as already stated. This comes with all the driver packs possible and numerous other advantages over your standard windows.
Not that I've ever seen or used a copy.

.....or just set your firefox/explorer home page to AOL.co.uk and you can login and access your email there.
