the longest was the chassis itself, but that doesnt count i guess! the most labour intensive is the exhaust manifold i've nearly finished now, 2 days solid (10 hours) with another day left. Looks pretty rough due to re using old curves from the donor, but it will breathe much better than the original!

Bodywork, by a huge margin.

Cheers

I think so far the thing that has taken most time on ours is standing around doing nothing, thinking about what has to be done next, the best order to do things in, etc etc. We're not very far on in ours though (collection of parts still)

Here here,

Did a lot of that standing around working things out, so I've made a list of outstanding jobs.

Wish I bloody hadn't now. 36 major items with even more minor ones. This, even though everyone who sees it says "nearly there then".

Its a bit daunting, but at least I can now mark em off the list and see progress on a day to day basis.

I agree with the above 2 gentlemen.
1. Generally looking at what the hell I am going to do next. I don't get much time at it, usually just my lunch hour.
Multiply that by 5 hours a week and that is a lot of thinking.
2. Checking everything THRICE, it gets expensive otherwise.
3. Constantly checking on here and posting my tiny point of view.

It's all good fun though, isn't it ?

In regard to DavidM's post...
I have been amazed at the number of people who have said 'oooo, you are getting there now...'
I have been getting there for ages, it's just they don't appreciate how much is involved and only come out with the above quote when I happen to have attached a bit of fibreglass to the build.
Anyone done a bit by bit build plan at all. I did start one, but YOU ALL know how it is.

For me, prevarication! (i.e. wasting time thinking about doing something and worrying about it, instead of just getting stuck in and doing it!)
