Making own exhaust manifold?
How easy is it to make your own exhaust manifold?
Are the bends fairly cheap?
Im thinking about it as i dont wana use my cast manifold from the donor but i dont wanna spend hundreds on getting one made.
I was thinking just a simple 4-2-1.
Thanks
Mikkel

If I can do it, any other idiot can do it.

I suppose it depends what you want. This is easy, 4 straight bits with bends in, then 3 Y pieces:

Im going to build my own but only 'cos i have no money and it would take months to afford to have one custom made.
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

I paid around £125 for stainless bends and straights to do mine, took a couple of days to complete.
You can mig stainless but the welds will rust unless you use stainless wire and argon gas.
The trick is in how you assemble the bits during the build, do not weld up leaving bits you cannot access. If you get all the tubes to butt squarely
you can hold together with masking tape before tacking.
