BEC Question
Greetings the BEC house,
Where is the best place to find a sensibly priced bike to use as a doner for the MK power plant?
I have searched the usual places, MCN classified, Interweb breakers but not finding a bargin?!
The obvious question is what constitutes a bargin for a ZX10, ZZR 11, 12 or 14?
How much of the bike is required to convert from a x-flow?
This is all "budget research" at this moment in time but would appreciate a view from you.
Regards.....Neil

Malc's your man. You might find an engine cheaper on e-bay but you won't get the back-up that you will from Malc.

I got my blade engine from an ebay seller, and then had to buy all the bits seperate, ecu, loom, carbs, clocks etc. etc.
It actually works out pretty expensive, so I can understand the benefit of buy a whole bike, however that doesn't get away from the problem of
having to buy the car specific bits and peices.
That is where an existing package like lurch's comes into its own, not only a tried and tested engine, but its the complete list of parts, that
you can be sure are compatible to take out the headache.
Worth checking the prop length will be ok - apart from that it seems a bloomin bargain to me.
Apart from that, you could try visordown, which has a large classified forum, or even model specific forums, eg. http://www.zx10r.co.uk/
Hope this helps

I believe Andy gets some of his engines from Malc but due to volume/trade he is still competitive (on price, not in sidecars!)

Hi
If your looking for a cheap option I still have 2 RF900R engines
Would make for a cheap install.
LINKY
The 96' one was removed from my Dax Rush to make way for my ZX12R engine.
It has had New gears and selector forks, clutch springs.

Lurch, This looks like a good buy but I'm still only at the how much will it cost research bit so not in a position to move on this. Timing is
everything as they say.
Thanks for the post.
