will this fit a haynes roadster
hi i have the chance of a steering column with shrouds off a mk indy the coloumn is off a sierra and has a proper bearing and adapter made to take
the place of the
Sierra Plastic bush.
will this fit the steering rack of a mk2 escort?
any help much appreciated

when you say " a bearing" do you mean its a bearing that locates the column thru the bulkhead (cp16 plate in the build manual ) ?
i think i,ve seen what you mean tho a photo would help to confirm.
if it is the bearing that fits into the bulkhead then it shouldn,t affect the placement of the column in relation to the steering rack.

i,ve just had a look in your archive.....
the bearing you mention, is that the shiny silver bit closest to the camera? if so then that won,t affect the connection to the escort rack, do you
have the extension bit that goes down to the rack?
the only query i have is how would you locate that bearing into the bulkhead, would you still use the large Black rubber bush holder?
if that bearing is just as a replacement for the Ford plastic bush that fits inside the black bush holder then i,d say it would probably work for
you.
as long as you have a way to secure the bearing into the bulkhead it should be ok.

thanks for your help andy i have posted some pics of how far the build is The chassis has been 80% panelled from the inside using 2mm marine grade
aluminium
The handbrake and master cylinder are off a rover 45 and all the brake lines are new up to SVA standard.
There has also been a sierra 3.62 lsd refurbished and fitted in place.
All the fuel lines are braided with fuel filter and facet fuel pump.
Some of the wires have been run and fuse boxes/kill switches are fitted.

mines about 60% complete, hope to be ready for IVA around christmas time, if funds allow.
