Bypassing the stand cut out and the neutral cut out on 99 r1?
Hello again, as part of my investigating why my car is not sparking I wondered if the cut outs for the stand and the neutral stop the engine firing or
actually stop the starter turning? Reason I ask is the starter is turning but the engine does not fire, and as part of my investigating the other day
have I dislodged a wire????
So, questions are:
1. Do the stand and neutral cut outs stop the starter working or stop the coils sparking?
2. How do you bypass them (if I have manged to dilslodge a wire?)?
Thanks
Lee

on every bike I've owned neither the starter or the plugs work when the side stand is down, or its in gear.
I do not specifically for the 99 r1, but if you consider that the starter motor is enough to make the bike lurch forward if in gear, I;d have to
assume it is the same.
- have you considered your coil pack may be faulty? They do fail sometimes.
Then again it might be a goosed ECU.
Do you know anyone with the same engine you can do some swappsies with to test on your car?
