Fabricated Cortina uprights - anyone made them?
I have been reading some very old posts (back to 2005 ish) about fabricated front uprights. Some posts by Rorty show Cortina pattern items made from
profiles, some with RHS. And there were several other posts about a couple of companies making them very cheaply (MNR for £110 a pair was
mentioned).
Well, did anyone actually make these uprights themselves? I can't seem to find any follow up threads to say if it was a success or not.
Or is it simply not worth doing and I should (gulp) actually buy some uprights.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

I was hoping the 4 year gap from those posts would have provided the R&D
I seriously like the idea of scratch building as much as possible. The rear uprights can be, and according to Rorty the fronts can be too.

considering how common it is to fabricate rear uprights and the fact that they are also taking transmission loads. I'd not be too worried about
making front ones.

Yes, I could buy them. But then I could buy a set of wishbones, or a chassis, or a complete car.
The fact I will fabricating rear uprights, and the fact that Cortina front uprights are now approaching £100 a pair it seems to me that if I can make
them then its another thing to knock off the list of things to buy.
I feel like making a start some time soon and this could be a nice little project to work on whilst I am waiting for other parts to come together.
