blackbird experts, whats this???
Anybody know what this is on the injected blackbird airbox? Dont need the airbox anymore, but wondered if i need to incorporate this thing on my
system, its vx engine, blackbird bodies and megasquirt and spark. Thanks

Looks like some kind of air temp sensor.
If it is and you a retaining the injection system or using megasquirt then it will need to go into your new airbox. If you are running carbs then it
will not be needed.

As above, this sensor is the induction air temperature sensor.
You will need this if you are sticking with the Bird Injection system, and could probably be used with MS if you are doing your own thing.
I have not used the original air box and have instead, fitted an ITG sausage filter. I have mounted the sensor through the side of the sausage using
the wire grill in the filter to mount it.

Yup. Air temperature sensor. Unless it's a MAP sensor....

MAP sensor would be on the other side of the throttle butterflies. Definitely air temperature.
