Great engine, but as above... getting into 'car-engine' territory as it's pretty heavy.

The bike is heavy but does that mean the engine is? Given that the engine is used to pulling 300+kg of bike round 400-500 kg of car shouldn't be so much of a stretch for it.

05 R1, 62KG and 160bhp (182bhp on a bike). Light and power together.

had a thought about a Rocket3 engine, inline, shaftdrive 2300cc bike engine. not lots of bhp(140) but 150 ft/lbs of torque.

I've always rather fancied a Goldwing engine. 1.8 flat 6, shaft drive with reverse.
It's wide, but it has to be smaller and lighter than a car engine ?

that'll be the bike, not the engine.

even a pinto doesn't weigh much more than 150 kg.

oh, and I mentioned this bike when it was first announced

BMW 1000RR, out this winter....

Hoping someone (in Yorkshire?) gets hold of an engine in a relatively sound condition. *Really* hoping the guy riding the bike isn't hurt providing me with it.
