mini project idea's
ive always fancied a mini project for track day fun, but cant afford a zcars one, so been thinking of alternatives ways rear, front engined motorbike
powered, but now thinking inspired by the MEV Atomic, why not put the engine in the pasengers seat position with a propshaft to the rear axle, just
saw what looked like a simular set up on ebay. as only track day not looking hassle of registering. anyone see any great issue's apart from
noise?

I had the same feeling about 3 months back so starting building this.....
It is a spaceframe mini chassis and I will plonk a mini shell on top like a remote control car body. Hopefully cost around 4-5k, picture of the donor
car is attached.
I have the MNR back at my family home with my Dad and fancied building something a bit different in my garage.
I think you should go for it, Gareth

i got a bit confused by first picture, i was thinking of starting with a 6point cage, what suspension axle are you thinking of using?
might be a strange thought but seen some bike engined robin's and thinking of how wide mini is and live axle, as suspension be stiff and not to
much travel for prop to cope with and need for complicated suspension design

I have designed the chassis to suit MNR rear wishbones (independant) and westfield front wishbones. The prelude engine is going in the back and I will
cut and shut the prelude driveshafts with some sierra ones and shorten to the correct length to suit the original mini width.
I have done lots of measurements one friends mini and anothers BE mini so a standard mini roll cage should weld straight in, fingers crossed.
However it is becoming quite an engineering challenge.
A Live axle with stiff simple suspension might be a better option.

also been looking here seem to do lots of space frame chasis and fibreglass, not spoke to them as yet but price
for a chasis seems easier the making, but did notice is 'from' £2000
