I thought id got it all sorted and then...
...the hazard warning light was flashing with the right indicators 
I know why it was, i had connected the warning light in parallel with the right side indicator circuit but i have tried all the other options i can
think of (connecting the bulb after the relay and before the switch doesnt work) and now i am out of ideas.
How have you all wired your hazard warning lights?
This is how i have wired my indicator/hazards but the switch is only a 4 pin (non self illuminating) and the pin on the relay that goes to the warning
light is the earth (i have also connected it there but it doesnt light very bright).
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

i had similar problems last year, and as electrics baffle me, i used the trial and error fix
Basicly both my warning lights are wired straight to the switch, as they will only be powered when the switch is put into either left or right mode,
so if you move the warning lights from R to C i believe they will only work when demanded
oops forgot, the bulbs warning bulbs are in series, not earthed , so from C to warning bulb, and the other side goes to the switch, in parrelell with
c to switch

I tried that and the warning bulb flashes fast but none of the other lights, light up.
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

is your hazzard relay the same as your indicator relay?

No, its different.
Its sorted now (thanks steve). the light is wired in parallel with the feed to the switch

Thanks, and glad it worked, the same as mine,
and i do know how frustrating it is when it doesnt work, and some of the combinations i tried were more out of desperation, than common sense,
and these cars are pretty easy compared to the tin tops we drive
