can you cut mushroom adaptors?

As the title really, where they protrude form the bottom of the hub can you trim them a bit, making the drag link nut a hell of a lot easier to tighten up?

Or will VOSA take a dim view, even though they are clamped and have an M8 capscrew through them retaining them into the hub?

Any advice appreciated, mucho thanks,
Stott

I don't think you need to.. If you tap (copper hammer, rubber mallet, wood and hammer ect) the taper into the mushroom you should be able to do it up with a socket and extension bar?

mine have the taper bush welded in at a funny angle and the nut only just clears the side wall when your starting it by hand, getting a socket on it can be a right pain, plus it would look neater IMO if they were cut, just a thought.
