Leccy reverse and bike battery
I have an MK electric reverse and also a standard bike battery. I know the bike battery probably won't be up to the job for regular use long
term but am I only really concerned with the IVA.
So....if I charge the battery up full is the reverse likely to kill it on a one off usage for the IVA??

IVA inspectors are cunning... if they spot you have a small battery they may well test the reverse system repeatedly until the battery is flat, just
to prove a point to you... and thus fail you because the test can not be continued....
Dont give them any satisfcation....

Why on earth would they do that? Most people seem to say their inspector was nothing but helpful and fair. Do they want to fail us? I don't
think so- it's just more work for them in re-tests!
Either way, I'd think you could drive a BEC quite a long way on the battery. I've driven my Golf on the battery/starter the rest of the
way to the petrol station when I've run out of petrol before!!!
Quite often in the old day!!!
Cheers,
James

Using the battery when the engine is running will take so much current that it will probably stall it. The RGBers with leccy reverse quite often
struggle to reverse over a 2x2 piece of wood that they need to for scrutineering.
Both the SVA testers I have met have been very fair and want the car to pass.
They aren't vindictive but may look more harshly if they think you are taking the p*ss or that the car is presented in a way that shows little
care in the way it was contructed.
