fuel tank

im not sure which forum this should be in, so I apologise if it should have been in engines or something. Anyways.
Im afraid im not building a locost yet, but am planning a custom fuel tank for my road car. I was wondering how (if you do) you hook up a fuel gauge to a custom made fuel tank in a locost?
Many thanks

You can use the original sender form the old tank, just have to cut a hole the same as the original Rescued attachment Tank Sender Hole.jpg

Mark,

Is that just a matching hole cut into the tank? (It looks like it is) Or did you weld the Sierra 'hole' onto the tank?

I cut from the Sierra tank the 'hole' from which the Sender came- but I've not been sure how best to attach this to the tank!

Cheers,

James

I too cut the hole out of the tank, but just to use it as a template, I chain drilled and then filed it out, it took ages to get just right. I didn't weld it in because the sierra tank is very thin and I wanted more strength at the cost of weight Rescued attachment FuelTemplate.jpg
