Fitting Acoust-fil
Hi all.
I have received my length of Acousta-fil and was hoping for it to come with SOME instructions. There was nothing with it!!
I have had a quick search on the net to. You all know the deal though, if you need an answer post on LCB!!
So any pointers, advice or tips?
Im just going to clean out the silencer, roll all of the Acoust-fil around the central perferated tube and reassemble.
Start the car and stand back!

That's basically all you do! No need to tie it onto the tube or anything like that - the 'sacrificial yarn' simply melts when
working temps are achieved so it might sound a bit louder than it should for a while but a good motorway blast will sort it out. The whole can will
get filled as it expands - clever stuff.
Best thing I ever did with my silencer - it gives a lovely deep, mellow tone.
Cheers,
Raz

i repacked mine last week end not been for a blast yet to get it upto temp but it sounded quieter already.
what rivets have you used to put the can back together alloy or stainless. Im only asking after reading guinness post from earlier about the end of
his coming off and i have used alloy so now im worried.

yep I have used it in my can and it does make it a bit quieter but still loud on full bore and loads of popping back on overrun. I used stainless
rivets to put it back together

As Razman says you need to get it ho to burn the stitching off.
Mine sounds superb and it smells nice after a couple of good thrashes. Mines been in since summer ish last year and the sounds getting better.
