ZX12R Muzzy Billet Clutch Basket

I have been running a ZX12R engined stuart taylor trouble free for a few 1000 miles now, It's an early 2001 A1 engine which is renowned for clutch isssues. I was wondering if anyone knows of a zx12r bec suffering a clutch basket failure. I like the idea of a Muzzy billet clutch basket for peace of mind, It would certainly make that tyre warming burnout at santapod less worrying. But has anyone had a standard A1 clutch basket problem? and is there a UK stockist of muzzy billet clutch baskets as by the time you have paid carrage etc from the states you are nearly up to the price of a replacement bare engine. Im trying to weigh up if its worth fitting one or maybe waiting for a spare engine at the right price to come up.

Many thanks in advance

Cheers, Im thinking of just getting the basket, drilling the centre boss and swapping 3 of the springs. Is there a UK distributor for muzzy stuff or is it a case of go direct and get what you pay for, the engines only stock but the standard basket looks skelital in comparison to the billet jobbie

Martin at MK Engineering has exploded a clutch basket and is now onto his 2nd one, TTS used to sell billet clutch baskets, i'd also give BIG CC Racing a call, or Holeshot Racing, most of the big bike tuners and drag bike specialists will probably be able to help you.

Happened at Mallory to Derek Jones in the BDN last year. Basket exploded first lap, cost him the championship.

BDN have now got a Muzzy basket, not sure it's fitted yet though.
