Gsxr indy with no speedo or gear indicator any idea's

Hi guys ive a couple of electrical issues with the Indy GSXR if anyone could shed any light or give me an idea where to start it would be great....

Ok

Issue 1, GSXR std clock set is fitted but its all working but ive got no speedo at all its the digital display type speedo..

Issue 2, car is fitted with a datatool gear indicator and this isnt doing anything other than going from 0 ie neutral to 1 for first if i select 2,3,4,5,6 its just staying as 1 or illuminating a secment which goes round in a circular motion on the display..

I'm not sure if both these issues could be linked as ive had no expeirence of these or fitting them etc..

Anyone got any idea's where to start....

Both these issues are linked. Sounds like your speedo sensor isn't working. Do you know where this sensor is on your Indy?

as above, sounds like speedo sensor pickup, have a look to see if it picks up from the prop adaptor or one of the drive shafts, could be the sensor has moved !

Sounds like the sensor is knackered. Quite easy for it to be a bit too close to what it is sensing and taken out.

The sensor is on a bracket reading from the propshaft, and there is two studs welded to the prop for it to read off i assume, at 12 and 6 oclock, ive recently had the propshaft out to do the reverse drive starter motor type deal, so i might of knocked it do you think ??

Anyonme know the clearance or gap they should be etc...i suppose the fitting of the ring gear between the propshaft and diff will have moved the pins on the propshaft out a bit wont they..

you probably knocked the sensor out of line when removing the prop, just move the sensor a bit closer to the pick up points and try it, mine only has about 2- 3 mm clearance.

You'll need to relocate your sensor.
