suprise today

driving down the A1, and a bumper fell off a car in front! Complete and seemingly undamaged, just dropped off

Then 5 mins later, there's a motor home on the back of a lorry, and its roof starts to blow off Smashed someones windscreen.

Think ive seen about 9 crashes/mishaps in a week now. Whats going on?

Can you stay up north then, and dont venture south of Watford,

That way we will never be in the same area at the same time

few days ago I ran over an 'undertray' the plastic things under engine bays. Whacked my front bumper and a couple of days later I realised I'm now missing some alloy mesh out of the bumper. Could have been worse if it lifted up at all.

The best I've ever (nearly) seen was on the M62, a Shogun towing a trailer with an Escort on. I don't know exactly what happened but by the time I was passing, the Shogun had just pulled up on the hard shoulder and the guy was getting out; the Escort was relatively undamaged, on its wheels, halfway up the embankmant; and the trailer was also on its wheels ... parked neatly on the Escort's roof!

speaking of trailers, again on the A1, saw a guy blocking both lanes with a bent trailer yesterday, he had been towing a people carrier on a trailer, behind a VW bora - methinks some awquard questions about weights would have been forthcoming. Im guessing that was nearly twice his towing limit!

pah, that is nothing.

about 7 yrs ago i was about two cars in outer lane back behind a lorry in the inside lane with trailer full of beer kegs.
For no apparent reason the lorry started to move from the inside lane right across two lanes and into the central concrete barrier, the trailer tipping over slightly over the barrier, beer kegs a flying!

having stopped and walked around countless kegs spraying beer, I saw that
amazingly no one appeared injured, including the Porsche 911 driver in the opposite lane with a beer keg in the middle of his windscreen - bet he needed a change of underpants.

(oh, the beer was lager so no great loss).
