Newbie (aka stupid) questions
Hi all,
I'm about to start and build a Tiger Avon ( probably gonna buy the chassis at their open day)and have a couple of questions:
Cortina 4 +5 calipers are these the M16 ones? And if so on what other cars are they on?
Sierra Diffs 7", 7 1/2" What thats about?
Would using Sierra rear discs bring any great improvement over the drums?
Cheers for now

Hi gjn,
Cortina Mk3, 4 & 5 were al fitted with the M16 caliper (Ø57mm pistons). This was also fitted to Mk2 Escorts. FYI - the Sierra was fitted with the
later single-sided type caliper (also Ø57 piston).

Slight difference I found between the Escort and Cortina caliper. The cortina has a slight flange on the outer edge to hold in a spring clip. Also has
a different shaped set of locking tabs. Apart from that, they are identical.
In fact I had an Escort donor but had to buy a front off a cortina for the hubs. The best pair of calipers happened to be 1 from the escort and the
other from teh cortina!
