Quidco Cashback (Not)
In April this year I was quoted silly amounts to insure my 10 year old Saab Coupe, its a modified beasty so I normally have a little bit of internet
digging about to get the quotes into reasonable shape.
age 44 Ive had some companies quoting me £500 excess and £2000 premiums...
Yeah right...
Anyway using one of the comparison sites, I ended up registering with Quidco who were offering £70 cashback for arranging RAC cover via their website.
I was quite pleased with the deal, spoke with the RAC and managed to get fully comp for £391, with the £70 cashback to follow after a RAC policy of 90
days wait.
So my yearly policy cost once the cashback is paid up comes in at around £321.
Not too bad ....
However since arranging the cover, I noticed it failed to register on my quidco account as a transaction. I left it a few weeks, then emailed them.
They told me about the RAC policy of 90 days before they pay up, so I waited a bit longer.
I emailed them again in September to remind them, and they told me the ticket had been misplaced, so I reminded them again that it did not appear on
my list of transactions.
We then spent several weeks exchanging emails , where I supplied my style of underpants and toe nail lengths to quidco, for them to pursue my cashback
with the RAC.
"Quelle Surprise!"
recieved an email yesterday from Quidco, that the RAC had declined the cashback for the following reasons....
Response from Merchant. enquiry unsuccessful - Transaction not completed- order changed, cancelled or returned
So after all of that, the RAC are closed on Sundays ! Different if wanted to give them some money, in which case they are open !
quidco doesnt have a number to let me shout at them, and after replying to my emails really quickly, havent answered the one I sent them yesterday
afternoon yet either ...
Yes Scootz I need to move to Spain.
Anyone else been in similar with these nameless faceless websites?
I am not annoyed with the lack of £70 back, its because they have conned me into using their website, then had me emailing Prince Charles and
everybody else my toenail lengths for nothing...
Anyone else been there with this lot ?

Never had a problem with Quidco that hasn't been resolved in my favour.
It can be tricky to get it right though, we clear all cookies from the pc. log into quidco and then link from there to the merchant. Anything over the
phone, or not done via the quidco link, will not get the cashback. And I am guessing some companies "lose" the tracking data to save them
a few bob.
As an aside, how do quidco make their money9besides the £5 joining fee)??

They have reopened my claim for cashback, and the RAC have told me today my insurance has not been altered or amended.
The most recent quidco / RAC option page, is offering £55 cashback, and only open to annual insurance payment, not direct debit.
So Im still not sure whats going to happen yet, my betting is they will wriggle out of paying.
Whats more irritating is they have told me the RAC have declined it, not Quidco.
The RAC have told me its nothing to do with them, they are not involved.
Bless...
