Locost Fireblade RGB Race or Track car
MSA Logbook Number 25888.
This is a championship winning car that has run competitively in the Roadsports series at Kirkistown. Ongoing back problems mean an end to my racing
so it’s now for sale.
Engine is standard 919 fireblade with Dynojetted carbs. Rolling Road setup done by Holeshot Racing– produced 113 bhp and 66 ft-lbs torque.
The car has had recent improvements as follows:
• Complete respray (needs class decals, race numbers etc)
• Engine strip-down and rebuild
• Gearbox completely rebuilt
• new oil pump
• new clutch basket
• rework of gear change to sharpen up feel
• New front anti-roll bar
• New rear panels
• New bonnet
New OEM Honda clutch friction plates and uprated clutch springs fitted late ’07.
A new three layer radiator was fitted late 2008.
A new roll-cage was fitted mid 2007 as per Kirkistown scrutineers request.
Suspension is coil over damper with rose-joints at every point – fully adjustable all round.
Wilwood 4-pot calipers fitted to front. Rear brakes are standard Ford Fiesta. Brakes are twin cylinder with bias adjustment.
Car has live rear axle with Limited Slip ‘English Escort’ Diff.
Seats are fibreglass high-backed with five point harness for driver. There is a passenger seat and matching harness which are easy to fit if you want
to take a passenger.
Rechargeable transponder included (lap timing device required for racing)
Wheels are newly refurbished Alleycats – 6J on front with 185 Toyo 888 tyres and 7J at the back with 205 Toyo 888 tyres.
If you want to race in the NI Sevens/500 Club Roadsports series then minor work will be needed to bring up to spec, including:
• Rear brake lights (the car is wired for brake lights but these are not fitted)
• Rear running lights
• Front headlamps (these are included but need to be fitted)
• FIA LED Fog Lamp
This car would also be suitable for several RGB classes in Britain.
When last weighed the car was 450 kilos – may be slightly heavier now with new bodywork and radiator. Lights will add a bit more weight but it is
still likely that some additional weight will still have to be added to meet to 2011 spec.
There are two further sets of wheels, one set of 14” alloys with lightly worn Bridgestone road tyres and the other a set of similar alley cats with
half-worn slicks (good fun on trackdays but of course not allowable in Roadsports racing). Also multiple other part-worn slicks, ACB 10’s and
Yokahamas.
Car comes complete with trailer which was built for it.
Asking £4750 including the trailer but I am open to offers.
