These symptoms are normally associated with intercooler pipes coming adrift or a punctured intercooler. The pipes have special clips which can let go, renewing them is the only remedy.

If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

My Saab turbo has had similar issues twice over the years, and both were intercooler pipes.

The bottom one was loose, hidden under the mass of pipes & stuff, and wasnt too obvious till I realised the clip was loose.

The second time was the easier one, when the plastic hardpipe into the throttle body popped off.

Sounds like a leak in the intercooler pipework or a blocked exhaust.

Best bet would be to make a simple boost hose tester. Block each end of the intercooler pipework and pressure test it with compressor.
