login

morning, I have been having great problems logging in at home. It worked fine until a few weeks ago and every time I try and login it just goes back to the normal logged out screen even though i have entered the correct login details.

It works fine on every other computer I use and I have even tried changing my password but no joy.

I think it might have something to do with a norton a/v update dowloaded around the time of the problems but not knowing much about computers I do not know what to turn on or off to resolve the problem.

any help would be welcome

Chris

OK, spend about 30 minutes yesterday searching norton trying to find out how to accept cookies from individual web site but to no joy. Anyone got an idiots guide please (norton internet security 2004 and my cookies are enabled)

Turn Norton off? All those programs are a waste of time and provide no real protection. They are good at popping boxes up every now and again thought to make you think you made a good investment.

If you must use a firewall the one in XP service pack 2 is perfectly good, but ideally you should get a broadband router/firewall unit which, by their very nature, provide far better protection than any software solution will.
