Jamie Inglis - Bit of an appeal...
I've been hearing about this cause for quite some time now and I'm sure anyone local to the York area will have too.
I've thought many times about doing a sponsored this, that or the other but the notion has always faded away into nothing. Today I decided that
I should at least do something to contribute, so I figured I'd start by appealing to the good natured people on this forum as a starter for
10.
I don't have any connection to the family in any way. It just bothers me that the required treatment isn't available on the NHS and, as a
father of two young boys of a similar age to where Jamie was when initially diagnosed, the thought basically scares the poo out of me.
I'm not going to type too much more about it, just insert the extract from the JustGiving website and let you decide for yourself. If you can
give a little, it'd be a contribution to a great cause. If not, then fair enough. But please just remember, this isn't charity money for
research or something - it's money that will contribute towards genuinely helping a young lad hopefully have a long and happy life.
"Jamie has relapsed neuroblastoma. He has been fighting neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood cancer, since he was 3 ½ years old. He has beaten
the disease once but sadly the cancer has come back. Jamie’s immediate treatment will be radiotherapy and chemotherapy to try and get the disease
under control. As we do not have any relapse treatment protocols in the UK, Jamie’s best chance of beating neuroblastoma is to travel abroad for
treatment.
His best hope for survival lies in Germany. The treatment Jamie needs costs £250,000 and will not be funded by the NHS which is why he needs your
support.
If you can help, please make a donation to the Neuroblastoma Alliance UK, or organise a fundraising event to raise money for Jamie's Appeal.
Please give as much as you can afford to help save Jamie and other children like him. Every donation for Jamie, no matter how small, helps."

Thanks for reading - I wasn't sure how to go about this thread as I don't let my concience get the better of me often. I just want to do
something instead of thinking to myself it would be a good idea one day...
Cheers
Steve
PS - If someone does want to do a sponsored something of a locost related nature and has any ideas, drop me a line.
