ROGUE ADVERT!
Chris,
There is a banner for 'ford sport' national weekender' appearing at the bottom of each page
I remember before putting the luego sponsorsip up you consulted with locost builders, many of whom probably aren't into this ford sport thingy!
(looks a bit chavscummy)
or maybe the locostbuilder web servers have been hacked by evil 'ford sport' promoters in a conspiracy against us all

I realize that Chris probably wants to offset the costs of server/bandwidth by running some banners and I think that's appropriate given the
fact that this place is here because of his efforts and we haven't given one bit back to him financially....
Just wondering Chris, what if you set up some sort of 'Donator' status for members. A little mention of that fact below the username. Then
had a seperate 'page' where you could place all the sponsor banners? Your nav links across the top of the page could have an additional
'Sponsors' button ...
I know that www.mr2oc.com does this and it seems to work a treat.

if chris set up a paypal thing and if all members donated £1 for him hosting and running the site he'd be well on the way to completing his car

It's a club event I'm involved with hence the banner. Club is an enthusiasts thing, not money making, hence why I didn't think
anyone would mind.
I hope it doesn't offend anyone too much - perhaps one or two of you would be interested in a bit of RWYB?
Oh, and I can win stuff by producing the most hits on the website. Well, actually I can't as I wrote the code behind it, but I'm trying
to encourage some competition! See http://typhon.netrino.co.uk/topten.pl

Yes sir, but the idea of giving a bit back to the Webmeister seems ok to me... I mean, a fool and his money are easily parted (and all that) so I
would give...

Having gained a huge amount of info and friends from this site i see it only fair that the person that started it, hosts it and also keeps it running
should gain from it's existance, it might also help to get a few T shirts designed to promote the club at events and shows !!
Paypal would suite me as well
Just my opinion though

I'm all for the paypal concept - how ever much money I might spent on everything else I couldn't build my car without this site -
It's certainly worth a few quid to me.

I know that on focaljet.com the webmaster has gotten quite a few sponsors on the site. In the arly days he used to complain that it cost him $50 a
month to keep it up and running plus all the time he spenty on it. I hate to knock the guy, he did put in alot of work, but, I was on as much as him,
and was a moderator, plus Ford decided to sell him 2 seperate Focuses for $1 each, plus he got all kinds of free stuff for the cars just becaus e he
did alot of advertising with them on his website.
Well, back to the point I was thinking about making Luego sponors this site, and probably picks up quite a bit of the tab to have their name on every
page here.
Although I think we should lynch him for not getting the chat working right

I don't think my build would be where it is today without this forum. Thanks Chris!
If you (Chris) want to contact me with the requirements of this site I may be able to offer hosting/bandwidth.
