Engine compatibility check

I am looking at taking the plunge on the below car, and using as a donor engine for my widebody F27.

I need to be 100% sure that it will mate to the type 9 gearbox and bellhousing that was mated to my 8v 2.0 20NE unit. Somebody previously mentioned that it will fit the family II bolt pattern, but a quick search says that the 6 cylinder unit is based on the older CIH (Cam in Head) family: (maybe they refer to the straight 6 though??:

“ The four-cylinder petrol engines were all based on the GM Family II design, whilst the six-cylinder units were based on the older Opel CIH(Cam In Head) family.”

Can anybody confirm if the pattern is the same and will still fit from the car linked on ebay?

Looking further down the page it seems that the 2000 model has a X30XE engine type:

Late in 1999, the Omega received a facelift and a 2.2 L 16-valve engine was added to the range as an eventual replacement for the 2.0 L.
The following year, a 3.2 L V6 engine replaced the 3.0 L V6 unit, and a 2.6 L V6 engine replaced the 2.5 L V6 unit. Year 2001 brought also brand new diesel 2.5 DTI engine from BMW, with "Common Rail" system.

I have mated an X25XE 2.5 V6 out of a 1996 Vectra onto a gearbox from a 1993 Calton that had the C20NE engine in.

When I was looking for information I found some on people that had shoe horned the V6 into Novas without swaping gearboxes. So based on that info I concluded the Bellhousing patterns must be the same and took the chance.

The only fiddling to be done was to make the steel sandwich plate between engine and gearbox.

Im almost certain it will be fine. The Omega was fitted with both straight 4 and V6, and the gearboxes were the same.

A GM 54-Degree V6 engine - essentially an Ecotec version of the C25XE. It has similar design features to the X20XEV - particularly the cylinder heads and emission reduction hardware. This engine was used in the Opel Omega.

The X25XE was also used in Later Models of Vectra B from 2000 until 2002. It was to prove popular in Police Vehicles in the UK.

The X30XE with few modifications was used in Sweden SAAB 9000 since 1995. This engine was called "SAAB B308i".

I am absolutely certain it will fit, I once helped a freind put a C25XE into a non turbo 4x4 Cav, which had the C20 NE engine in it. The 25 and 30XE have the same block.

The CIH were straight 6s and were used in the MK1 Omega, otherwise known as the Carlton in the UK. The V6s in the Omegas were not CIH.

The Vauxhall V6 is a good solid engine, with nice smooth power delivery. I'm a fan of them. Tuning is not easy though, but in getting the MV6 you are getting the better version of it if memory serves that is still the 2.5 and develops 198bhp, as a pose to the normal 170 of the 2.5, and of course once you have mounts for the Vaux V6, you can fit the 3.2 which I THINK is about 220bhp and has the same mounts and fixtures / fittings. If you blow up the MV6 moter you can just buy any other 2.5 V6 and fit the cams from it, they are what takes it from the 170 to 198, so you only need to pay the premium for the more power once.
