2.0 Zetec oil pump/crankshaft seal leak

Im just at the stage of cranking my engine over with no plugs in to gain oil pressure. On doing so it got to oil pressure ok and then did a little puddle on the floor. It was leaking from behind the bottom pulley. I removed bottom pulley and retried and it came from behind the toothed wheel that drives the cambelt and sits behind the bottom pulley. Have removed oil pump to find:
1. It had no gasket fitted, just liquid gasket done badly (not by me I might add!).
2. When the toothed wheel was slid off of the keyway, there is no seal behind it... should there be?
The bore in the oil pump that slides over the crankshaft has no seal as pictured in the ad below, that doesn't look right?

The same idiot fitted the water pump too, I can see a gasket peeping out but might re-do this too for peace of mind!!

Help would be much appreciated guys :-)

I am just building my new engine, brought oil pump from burton power and no seal in it as well. this is because it comes in a sump gasket set. I do have a spare if you want it. free of course.
