What spacing for rear Harness mounts?
Just after peoples opinions on the measurement between the rear Harness mounts you all have and if you would change them.
I am redoing the roll-bar on my Haynes and they are presently set at 254mm or 10 inches apart and I find that a bit wide as the belts will slip over
the shoulder. Now that could be because they are to low, or I have slopey shoulders, or because they are wider then normal?
So as the mountings are in the bottom rail of the roll bar now is my chance to change them. So how wide are yours and are they OK?
Cheers

I've just been looking at this..........
https://www.tillett.co.uk/shop/documents/downloads/seat-belt-fitting-information-2012.pdf
for info about wrapping a harness around a roll cage.
Seems to have what you want at page 23.

I have the same shapely figure as you and I used to race a grasstrack stockhatch with 5 point belts, if you have a seat with the slots in the back
they will stay put but only if you do them up very tight. If you can move freely in them then they are not tight enough and will always slip off your
shoulders. If you are still using your original seats I would say put your rear mounts as close together as you can and increase the strength of the
tubing.

The download looks interesting, I know it is meant for racing, but has a lot of safety information in it.
My existing set-up is like the picture top right page 22. Looks as though I should have spacing around 5 inches between the mounts. Will have to
measure up properly when I can.
I am still running with the Renault scenic seats in the car and they have no slots, the belts go around the head rest.
I am doing a MSA style roll bar using 45mm 2.6mm wall cds tube all round so that will cope with the mounting bushes welded in the tube.

If your harness points are too low, then it's time to move them up as well.
Plenty of information out there, the blue book will give you angles relating to your application, these are fairly loose.
If you're fitting a HANS device, things are much more rigorous. Nice download available from Scroth that is quite useful, all needs to be
measured and set up carefully.

I only have road style 2" harnesses in the car. I am re-doing the rollcar to just make me feel a bit safer in sprint type events in a road
going class.
If I could find 3" harnesses for a reasonable cost I would probably get them.
I will get the tape measure out when back at home in the garage.
