Track Day Blyton 21/04
Any one going to this tomorrow, I don't have a spot booked but will be popping down with a few friends to see what's going round. Would be
good to meet a few people if anyone is going?

Nice weather but too many red flags in the morning. Better in the afternoon untill I overheated it at the end. I'll get around to video
sometime.

Pretty bloody well. I was just running it in but that idea went out the window after about 5 laps. It's got a lot more torque. Before i could
light up the rears if I wanted to; Now I can avoid it if I'm careful. It was also 5mph faster down the staight (every time) than I've
ever manged before. Danny was going around faster but I think he was the only one.
The overheat was the last session and I'd just come in to swap camera position. I went back out without a break to cool down. I've had a
concern that the rad fins were getting a bit bad (been hit by a lot of crap over 5 years) for a while and I think a combination of the 2 caused it.
The presure cap let go first, luckily it's directly by a bonnet vent so you know imediatly and I pulled over. After it cooled I topped it up and
it started and ran fine. Fingers crossed thats all and the h/gasket is OK. I'll do some proper tests on it later. The point of the day was to
find any issues so can't be too pissed off.

Red aero? You mean the Radical or the Formula 750? The Radical broke (first red flag?) and spent the day on tha trailer. Was never on track with the
F750's as far as I know. Wasn't overtaken by anything other than Danny except on warm-up/down. I was running with MK's (turbo?)
s2000 car there last time out (when it had a bump) with the old engine so pretty sure this will match a NA one.
The engine is an ex-BSB 06 R1. It won't be faster than anything for a while though... I've blown the head gasket when it overheated Had
a missfire when I started it yesterday eve'and there's water in no4 cylinder this morning.
Still better to do it here than in the Alps. Never changed one though so not sure whether to set about it in situ (I can get it to a nice working
height on the ramp) or drop the old motor back in for Stoneleigh.

Interesting little things. They run 1.1 Fiat punto engines (think they used to use Reliant motors) and some interesting engineering to package them.
