Log book Queries for SVA
its a while since ive been involved with the logbook requirements for SVA .
If i use a vehicle from which i source the engine and gearbox , but scrap the vehicle , i wont be able to use that registration ? and have to use a Q
plate ?
if i dont scrap the vehicle , build a locost , claim ive used more than 75% of the original vehicle - in the build so i can keep the registration ?
As for emissions testing - if i can prove the year it came from - i only have to assume those emisions?
appreciate any help .thanks

this has been covered many times before. Whether you scrap the car or not, it wont make any difference. If you get rid of the chassis, keep the v5,
the reg plates and the chassis plate, all just to prove the car was yours. You probably wont need them. If you use the engine and gear box from the
donor car, some would say that you will get and age related plate. Definate if you use a few more parts, eg hubs, diff or steering rack/column.

yeah ,
sorry for going over this sort of stuff , sometimes its easier just to ask to see where you stand , my donor car has (well my estate has just blown a
head gasket)arrived - so i can start to nick things off it , all the front hubs suspension , maybe live or IRS rear yet - steering column etc .

anything they ask you about, just say it came from the one car. How the hell can they prove otherwise with un-numbered parts?! then again, nowt
wrong with a Q plate when it comes to MOT time!
