Diff confirmation of ratio.... Help

Just bought a new 3.38 prop and off to collect on Thursday.

Am I right in thinking the easiest way to check it is what it says it to turn the prop side 1 turn and the shafts should turn 3.38 times ?

It's not on a car so it should be easy?

I don't want to strip it down the plate says its a 3.38 7" but that could be a fake n 3.38 diff's ain't cheap

Thanks

Lock one output shaft, the other will turn 6.72 turns to one pinion turn.

When I got my 3.14 I took some splined ends to do exactly the same thing.

3.38 turns on the prop equals 1 turn of the wheels,

so,

lock one output flange, 6.76 turns of the input equals 1 turn of the free output.
