zetec silvertop oil pressures

Been getting a bit twitchy about my oil pressure.

It's a fresh rebuild with new rings and shells in and cold I'm getting 4+ bar running.

In this very warm weather its been 2bar running and 1 at idle with 5-30 oil
Coolent temps are staying in the 90's

I'm intersted in what most silvertops are running in the way of pressure before I change my electric gauge and so on

4 Bar is about 58psi. When running hot I get about 75psi. On tickover about 45psi. My engine has done a few miles so some allowance has to be made. Before you do anything check your gauge and sender it may be reading out.

Mine would go as low as 1.1 bar at 110 deg @ <900rpm

I found the spec for ford zetecs 1.6,1.8 fiesta/escort 1993 engine codes to be
1.3-2.5bar at idle (18.8-36.2psi)
3.7-5.5bar at 4000rpm (53.6-79.7psi)

Intersting thing is I also see pre july 1998 is shows 5w/30, 5w/40, 5w/50 and 10w/40
After july1998 its fully synth 5w/30 ford spec only

Im going to swap over to a mech type pressure gauge and see what I get
Air temps are nearly 30deg c here at the mo mind

Im also running a bit less oil as I have a shortend sump but the way I see it is no matter how much oil you have I will only heat up quicker the less you have within reason.
It might be worth me upping my hot grade a little to help in all this hot wether.

i have 25psi (1.7bar) at idle with my new mech gauge and oil pressure reg can be seen liftting at 42psi(2.89) around 3200 rpm i wounder if the orignal spring is just old? as i reused the pump as it had minimal ware in it

had a mate go into his autodata and they say the earliest zetecs should have 2.8bar (40.6psi) @2000 rpm and later ones are what i put above

looks like it changed around the same time as the oil grade change (sticky valve mod)
