What Tyre Sizes fits what Rim?

Hi All,

Apologies if this is in the wrong section.

I need your help.

I have some 5.5J x 15 steel rims.

What size tyres am I looking at for them?

or does anyone have a link to a suitable tyre size comparison web-site?

Thanks for looking in!

A rough approximation for nominal tire width is 125% of the wheel width. So a 5.5" wheel would use a (5.5 X 25.4 X 1.25) 175 mm tire +/- 10 mm.

Conversely, the wheel would be 80% of the tire width. +/- .5"

At least this will get you in the ballpark. Once you focus in on a particular tire, always check the mfgr's recommended wheel range for your size tire.
