Mini digger advise required
Hello chaps
I want to landscape my garden, put up a big shed and dig a little pond at at my age stuff digging by hand.
Looking on eBay I see a few mini diggers between the £2,500 - £3000 so the plan is to purchase, work at my leisure then sell on.
Anyway there is something that looks ideal, a powerfab 180c as its light so will go on my trailer, narrow so will fit through the gate and but is it
good value ?

But then a bigger one like this just looks much better

Downside is its weight and size.
Has anyone got experience of the little powerfab or has something for sale that would suit me?
Cheers Mark

Why not just hire one for a day?
Be cheaper than collecting one.

I rented one of those Kubota ones for a weekend (about £90). Amazing how quick you can dig trenches and stuff.
Renting made a lot of sense.

I'd go for the kubota if I had to choose between the two much more capable machine easier to resell and easier to get parts should you need
them.
Totally agree with what designer said.

Have. You never wanted a digger?
Okay, hire is possible but I have maybe 10 days work over 6 months so would be paying £1000 to hire and get pushed for time, this way it's my
own pace.
Buy and sell on has got to be cheaper, the old one is very simple without a 360 table so less to go wrong.
Regards Mark

I'd be tempted (have been in the past) to buy one, then dig everything into something else and dig it all back again, and again.. then you have
a crane, a tow machine, a log splitter etc etc..
However, if your not like me just hire one, see how you go with it and then you'll know if you want to buy one

I have hired one and did just that over a weekend, had no real plan so dug the hell out of my garden then used the blade to shove it all back
So to justify... It's easy
Footings for 6m x4m shed in clay
Footings for 50' dwarf garden wall
Section and block raised area for veg garden to keep everyone happy
Dig pond
Dig footings for 30' patio and 20' path by house
The list keeps growing
Also concerned cheap = stolen......

Correction
You know you want to buy. Remove "if"

The lack of 360 slew should be a reason not to buy it + the two things you need to dig are weight and power the smaller machine has neither.as for
have I never wanted a digger, I've got 3 of varying sizes but the novelty has worn off now.
The kx36 in the ad seems very cheap check it out carefully and make sure it belongs to the person selling it!

When I needed to do a garden, I hired one with a driver. It was a 3 tonne machine, and was amazing what it could do. We'd finished by 2pm!
