Omex 600 - no spark

I bought a 2nd hand omex 600 and have wired it in using a semi assembled loom,

power it up fuel pump primes, I can control fan with it, all temps pressures look good,

but no spark!!

I have tried a map from Omex, one I was sent from a fellow member and also one from a know running engine,
still no spark....

unplug my omex, plug in a known good one and I have a spark, so wiring is ok

2 thoughts....

1- the Omex I have is FUBAR
2- spark is turned off in the settings someone.

does anyone have any ideas, before I send it off to be tested

cheers Gavin

The omex has jumpers for different crank sensors.

No crank signal equals no spark.

What engine was the ecu used on last ?

You should be able to see a crank signal by connecting to the ecu.

Have you got laptop plugged in?

When cranking on the startup screen stat sync should show as on if your getting a crank signal

No crank no spark no start

I have connected a pc

stat sync says off from memory..

and tooth time value does not change, but it does on known omex

Not sure what the 600 is like but on the 200 you need to set a jumper inside the Ecu to configure for the type of crank sensor you have, VR or Hall.

If you get it wrong not crank signal!

I have checked inside the ecu and there is no jumper
So it is set for typical MVR. I think!!

Its a standard ford crank position sensor so I think this is right.

its not picking up the crank sensor then, check the wiring the sensors rarly fail

omex are very good and helpful also drop them a line

After a bit more investigation, its either somewhere in the settings,

or the Omex is knackered...

I took the map from another Omex 600 running on the same engine, still no spark.

put that map onto my ECU and fitted it to the other car, no spark.

This suggests the wiring on my car is ok, will contact Omex later and see what they say.

to me it says your issues is the wiring or the crank sensor spacing or the omex

the last thing would be the omex failing IMO

I dont think I am explaining it very well.

I have taken the Omex 600 off another car with the same engine that runs,
put it on my car and I get a spark.

If I copy the map onto my Omex and fit it on the other car, it no longer runs.

It has to be a problem with my Omex, hopefully just a setting somewhere.
