Certificate if confirmity? What is it?

Just filling out the v355/4 for new car registration. The guidance notes refer to a Certificate of Conformity. What is this?

Cert of conformity is not applicable to kit cars. It applies to tin-tops. Your IVA pass is the kit equivalent.

It was 6years since I filled in the form though so wait for someone else to agree...

Certificate of conformity is for type approved cars. That is where a sample vehicle has been submitted for approval, and the certificate is a self certification by the manufacturer which states that the vehicle is identical to the one which was tested.
