Santa Sleigh
Hi All,
I have been given a quest and need help from the great collective.
I am in Rotary and the President of the club has approached me about making a road going Santa Sleigh to take Santa himself around the streets of our
town and villages.
The building of said beast is no problem but what I am scratching my head at is would it need to be IVA'd and registered? or if I convert a
registered Trike would it need to be MOT'd? I have looked on the VOSA website but it is not a great help hence my plea to you all.
Regards
Bob

Most 'sleighs' round here are just decorated James Brian trailers towed by a Volvo/4x4

"Police nick Saint Nick" is not the sort of headline that most forces are looking for.

Local RotaryClub have one built as a trailer (rather than just decorting an ordinary trailer). The tow-car can then play Chrismas music via external
speakers.
Should be easy enough to make one with a trailer A-frame and axle.

Local rotary to me had a large shed with one end converted into a windowed booth for santa to sit in. They just put it onto the back of a flatbed
transit that they hired from a local hire comapny. The shed houses all the electrics and speakers on the outside for music and then use a diesel
generator onboard for power.

Small two wheel trailer used here, pulled by a road legal Quad, disguised as a Reindeer, complete with glowing red nose.

I'm in our local round table, and we have a Santa sleigh made from an old caravan chassis, generator in the back for lights and music, if you
use a caravan or trailer chassis then no other mods are needed apart from your sleight on top so no real problems, our local police once stopped us an
we all thought oh no, but they just want some pictures took with Santa, then went, our sleight even gets pulled by different cars so we put a number
plate on the back with Santa 1 on it. Although I don't recommend this.
