Bleed nipples and IVA

Hi everyone.

As I am not happy with the fact that Westfield expect you to put the brake light switch in the rear brake line, I have opted to make a pedal box mounted bracket to mount the donor MX5's electronic switch.

The trouble is the Westfield brake lines are cut to size, so I have a t piece mounted to the chassis that used to house the switch. I cannot remove the t piece as it is a mourning point for the line so can anyone see and problems with fitting a bleed nipple into the hole when it comes to IVA?

I have the brake light switch in the rear brake line, works fine. Mount it on it's side or upside down to prevent a potential bubble forming. You could just fit the pressure switch and not connect it up if using a mechanical switch. The T piece could be removed and fit extra supports (not difficult). I not sure if a bleed nipple would be acceptable.

As long as it all seals then no issues.

I have my brake switch mounted sideways into a Tee, with a nipple in the top leg to allow me to bleed the sensor.

If you're doing away with the pressure switch I would suggest replacing the 4-way tee that's currently fitted to the car with a 3-way tee.

Thanks for the replies!

The union is a 3 way already. as it bolts to a tang welded to the chassis removing it will make the mounting points before and after too far apart.

I have already done the deed but was just after confirmation it was OK to have a bleed nipple somewhere else other than a caliper for IVA.
