Mk Indy rear wings

Hello! this is my first question to this forum. Hoping to learn a lot with all of you.

here i leave the link for my presentation to the forum

http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/forum/7/viewthread.php?tid=191391&page=1?#pid1609183

I need a new rear wheel arche set. Even my car is an MK, will it fit any other arche? (zero or robin) I'm only finding parts for MK in MK webpage, and they are quilte slow answering me. Is there any guide to know about which rear wing will fit or not?

RIght now the car is using a Carbon fiber pair, but one of the arches is broken. Would it be possible to fit a GRP pair, or plastic pair?

The main target for the car will be racing and track day. The visual condition is not so important for me...

Kind regards:

Maurici.

Hi Maurici

I think it is probably that nobody has tried fitting non MK rear arches.

The rear arches on the Indy are generally just bolted to the body so if you can get dimensions from another supplier then you should easily be able to check if they will fit. It doesn't really matter what they are made from

It may also depend on how the arches on your car are fastened on. It's possible they were bonded as well as bolted.

They are on the MK website for £150 a pair, but MK aren't the best for communication and shipping to Spain might be an issue for them.

Can you not get the carbon ones repaired and paint them?

Stu

Thanks for your reply.

yes. The carbon ones can be repaired and painted, but one of them is in really bad condition. My idea is to repair it and wrap it after with vinyl as a "provisional" repair, and maybe definitive depending about the final result, but, im not soo good with resins and so... and I dont really know the best way to repair it. in fact, only one of them needs to be repaired.

What do you think about??

The integrity is quite good, seems that only upper gelcoat is broken.

Is the wing still solid? or does it move if you push the nasty looking bits?

Maybe just a coat of resin and matting on the inside, and wrap the outside?

If that was mine I would be looking for a new pair!

Have you tried Chris at MNR, he may be able to help.

Same as the front ones, make some brackets and use front guards on the back.

Like the MK Midi?
