OT: DIY Boiler and Megaflow

Another plumbing question I'm afraid folks!

We want to rip out the current ancient boiler and cylinder. Both are in the wrong place, the boiler is inefficient blah, blah. We're not even allowed to have cavity wall until we have a more efficient boiler!
We'd like a unvented system type with a megaflo (or similar).

I can easily do the new radiators and the new plumbing for them. However its the rest of the system I'm a bit unsure of!

Megaflow do a 'systemfit' model where the tank has everything else already attached to it. SystemFit cylinder

I know I need a Gas Safe person to do the gas pipe (and commission the boiler?). If I bought the system fit, is it just a case of connecting up the mains, the radiators and the boiler supply?
I wonder if I could do the boiler too?

I'm not sure if it's all fairly simple of whether I've missed something obvious?

I've had a quote from a plumber to fit a new Worcester Bosch boiler (gas, flue etc.) and connect it up to the megaflo I've fitted for £2000.

My mate did one for his parents and said the cylinder came with instructions and he just followed them!

Any help appreciated!
Thanks,
James

If you understand the principles of plumbing and are mechanically able a complete heating system isn't difficult.

Unfortunatly modern regulations state that major plumbing works and electrical works have to either be installed by a trained installer who is quilified and can self certify or have to be inspected before use.

I'd speak to a few local plumbers and see who'll inspect your work, certify it for you and do the final connection.

£2k for a boiler isn't that bad, British Gas would be asking for £6k!

Yes, I know you have to be certified now, etc etc.

I've just re-wired the entire house and had it signed off by an electrician so I get that.
