DEWY ECU on a 1.8 silvertop
Hello,
Soon I'll be putting some 2.0 '93 Mondeo 136HP cams in my 1.8 115HP silvertop zetec,
I also have the 2.0 TB on.
And I have a DEWY ecu, not yet on the car, my question is if the DEWY ecu will work?
I believe the early silvertop MAF's are the same for the 1.8 and 2.0 versions.
Or should I keep the 1.8 ECU. or will the fuelmixture be to poor?
Furher more my car has no PATS, its a 97 Mondeo.
Gr.

By making your engine a 130ps spec like the rs1800 and the higher spec xr3i's your standard 2.0 map should be fine. It will have some adjustment
on the trims anyway. Should be fine does not mean the best it can be, but in my opinion it will run fine.
Any uk spec 97 mondeo will have pats but that's no big deal. The pats ecu is much better than pre pats as you can see the data.

Hi thanks for your answer,
In my mondeo there is an immobiliser, but it just cuts of the power to the fuelpump.
I believe I dont have PATS, as my keys don't have the little red square in them.
But there won't be a problem with the MAF and injectors, in combination with the 2.0 ECU?

Big kick,
I finally got some 2L cams in my 1.8 this week, so now i wanted to put in the DEWY ECU, EECV IV.
So this morning I got out my current ECU which turns out the be the JOKE ECU,which is EECV V.
So the DEWY, 60 pins, obviously won't fit to my car's loom, as it's 104 pins.
Is there any way to make the DEWY, or any other non-PATS ecu work?
Or do i have to search for a EECV ECU with keys and transponders etc?
Further more, after googling my ECU, this website:http://www.projectbobcat.com/guides_mondeo_ecu says it has PATS.
But I don't have the red square on any of my keys, which I believe indicates the presence of PATS.
The only thing i have is a small stick I have to shove in the dash before starting, this interupts my fuelpump.

Your stick in the dash immobiliser will be aftermarket and unnecessary Pats is thatcham approved and I havnt found any one that can beat or bypass
it.. A 97 mondeo will be pats. So it has passive and active immobilisers. They are separate. The engine side is in the ecu and the car side is in a
body ecu. Both see the signal from the key chip. If you have remote locking keys the chip is inside.
The easiest solution is to find the ecu's and key from a 2.0 97 mondeo. Owls is one. They should swap over. Maf may be bigger, not sure. The
rest should be the same.
You could use the dewy but you will have to splice in the loom.

I don't have remote lock doors, I hav the simple key witht a puny light in it.
So I should get a OWLS EECV V ecu, with key, lock, and transponder?
Would an ALTO ecu be any good? I can't find any info regarding that one. 95BB-12A650EB is the number of it.
