If it try Yahoo or MSN it just stays on the logging in bit for ages, if if i try Ebay, the front screen loads ok and then when i try to click on the
'my ebay' link to sign in, it never loads and comes up with an error page saying i cant find the page and summan to do with a DNS error
Anyone know what i can do to get this sorted? I sold 8 things on E-bay yesteraday and dont know hoy much for now
Im on freeserve and dial up.
Cheers

Cookie problems?
Try logging in on someone elses' computer if you're desperate. Type your error message in google and see if anything relevant comes up.
Put what operating system you use as well. Have you only got IE on your computer, you could try another browser like firefox.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

It sounds like a freeserve problem, not your computer. Wannadoo has more than its share of them from what I've read on various lists.

Yup, it sounds like your DNS has gone down - that's your ISP's problem, not yours.
You can check by opening a command window (start -> run -> type 'cmd' -> ok), black window will open, type 'nslookup'
and hit enter, then type in an address and hit enter. All being well you should see something like this...
quote:
Default Server: bacon.home.chrisw.net
Address: 192.168.0.6
> www.locostbuilders.co.uk
Server: bacon.home.chrisw.net
Address: 192.168.0.6
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: www.locostbuilders.co.uk
Address: 84.234.16.100
If it's broken it'll be more like... (run on my print server which doesn't have DNS)
quote:
Default Server: printer.home.chrisw.net
Address: 192.168.0.8
> www.locostbuilders.co.uk
Server: printer.home.chrisw.net
Address: 192.168.0.8
*** printer.home.chrisw.net can't find www.locostbuilders.co.uk: No respo
nse from server
>
Hope that makes sense! In any case, blame your ISP
