Austin Metro 1984 Hose assembly brake vacuum

Anyone have any idea where I can get a Brake servo pipe for a Austin Metro 1L 1984? Looked at local scrapie and online and no luck

The metal pipe with the banjo which screws into the manifold?

Do a search on eBay UK for brake servo hose.

Thanks for the replies, the thing is im not really sure how it fits on and work, there is a hole in the servo with a rubber grommit in and the other end is a threaded hold on the inlet manifold?

This is the manifold end with the banjo nut in:


and this is the Servo end, just a hole with rubber grommit:



Does the ebay item posted fit this? and if so what else do I need for it as the Haynes manual shows the servo end with a plastic plug that goes in to the grommet then a rubber pipe attaches to that

the steel banjo bit on ebay 121749847605 and might be able to doctor this 381390804591 for the rest

The part that fits into the servo is a one way valve, without the valve you will have problems . I would have thought the valve would be available from suppliers of classic car parts, the banjo fitting from eBay or possibly a hydraulic specialist, you don't need to use a metal pipe just use a length of servo hose DO NUT USE normal hose , it will collapse

Anyone know where I can get that non return valve? If I got eBay item: 381390804591 would it work as it is for a MPI 1998 mini whereas my metro engine is carb and 1984? I could just ad a one way valve in the line but how would I attach the servo pipe to the servo? Dad also suggested I use a bsp 90 degree taper instead of the banjo, surely this would work?

Legend, this may work?! Thanks for everyone's help. Is there a point to using the banjo or could I use and tapered 90 degree connector and use a one way valve? Also which way would the one way valve work? I'm guessing it would be to lock pressure in the servo....

The servo should not have any pressure, the servo woks on vacuum

So which way would the non return valve go? Also can i use any non return valve or does it have to be specific to gas (air)?

Rusty is right though, the picture is wrong. Air is sucked out of the servo into the manifold. The valve stops it returning so holding the vac' in the servo. The arrows (just visible on the yellow bit) on the valve shows the direction the air can pass.

You should be able to find a servo pipe (usually plastic) at the scrappers with both the servo fitting and an in-line valve. You'd just need the modify the other end with a bit of servo hose and a banjo.

The depression in the inlet manifold draws air out off the servo creating a vacuum ,

Must type quicker

Thanks everyone for that, so go to the scrappys and look for any 1980's/1990's car and it should have a servo pipe on that I can just modify and use on the metro?

James, I may have one such NRV knocking about my lock-up. Will hopefully get it tomorrow.

Also if I cannot find one with a non return valve and so I need to make my own these are the parts I would need:



Plastic barbed elbow connector to go into servo (as posted by rash12 thank you)

Vacuum hose

Non return valve (can any valve be used for this? or does it have to be air specific?)

Banjo Tail (already have banjo bolt)

washers for Banjo
