Have gooogled to get the dimensions of the original housing, but canīt find it. Can anyone help me with the dimensions?

Hi
I've just posted a reply on the other raceline water rail thread. Take a look at the pics I put on another thread recently which shows the correct way to plumb it in. I also went to use the standard housing but for what ever reason was too tight against the bulkhead so bought a raceline water rail from someone off here I think.
It works a treat and have had no problems at all.
Good luck sorting it either way but don't lose faith in the water rail because of people having a few issues with it.
I must admit I was also in two minds whether to go for one or not but found this really good article by someone who had explained why people had been having problems and just followed his instructions to the letter and the rest is history. 700 miles so far, temp comes up fairly quick from cold and sits around 90 degrees while fan cuts in and out. Well happy with it and looks sexy too. Take a look at the pics!

Thansk for your support! I measured my chassis yesterday and found out there are no space for the original housing. So, I have to give the Raceline rail a try otherwise I will buy the retro ford one. It should work better than raceline I hope.

Just a couple of questions. Which thermostat are you using? With or without the bypass-valve? Drilled holes in the rim? Which diameter?

I fitted one of these.

Water rail linky

Very well made and keeps the thermostat where it should be.

I think my thermostat is rated at 92 and does have a small 2mm hole on the outer edge. I don't think I have a bypass valve fitted?

Nice piece, but I would like to have the rail on the other side because I will use a Polo radiator with inlet and outlet on the same side.

These are what you need if there is insufficient room for a standard housing.

It places the stat in the correct place and the hose runs down the exhaust side. Not sure if it has the correct bypass though.

I think the one below does have a bypass and is no more expensive. It also puts the stat in the correct place and is probably better quality.

I have used neither, a good old Orion alloy one works for me. No space issues.

Yes, the retro ford looks nice and from what I have heard, works well.

The Dunnell one, costs incl install kit Ģ250 + VAT.

I will give my raceline rail one more try, I think.....
