Replacing master cylinder
Hi all,
I need to replace my master cylinder on my Locost as its just started leaking. The seals were done pretty recently by the previous owner so I feel it
may be time for a nice shiny one as I can't work out what it's from. There are virtually no markings on it. Posted up on a couple of ford
Facebook pages and nobody can tell what it is from! It also looks like the rod has been modified in the past to make it fit with various nuts being
welded to it!
So my question is... Does anyone know what this master cylinder is from? And what cylinders do folk run? I've got no experience with replacing
master cylinder apart from the other night taking this one apart to clean it and put it back together. Which made the leak better but still weeping
out a bit!
Picture of current setup:
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks
Jamie

Looks like a Lockheed cylinder and servo as fitted to Mk2 escort and a host of BBritish Leyland type vehicles. Your local factor may be able to get
one or check Burton power and Rally Design site . whip it off and measure the bore you will know where you are. The modifications to the rod are
normally done to allow for the different thickness of bulkhead between a production car and a kit where the thickness may be greater.
