locost /westfield differences

right , went and picked up some westfield side panels , after mounting on the chassis in a fashion the front of the side panel came right to the front of the chassis , ie no room for wishbones - so the question is - is a book chassis shorter than a westfield chassis , i believe its an SE - or i have got somethin that isnt - of course ill go check the actual length tomorrow , justwanting to know offhand

do you have to cut the holes yourself for the wishbones and stearing tie rods?

Are you sure you dont have to cut the holes to fit them to a Westie? I had to do that on my ZR, AFAIK other kits are the same (apart from cateringvan whose will probably come complete with a person to fit them for you!).

You will be able to cut holes to fit your chassis and get a good look. I used a rotozip tool to cut mine. Measure twice, cut once etc. With a bit of practice the rotozip is easy. At worst a bit of hand finishing and the jobs a goodun.

definitely not - was at dennis vesseys on friday - he had two westies in (one with an busa) , both with the same side panels . it could be that the passenger compartment is longer on a westie thats all - but i was just concerned i havent got a special thats built to somebody elses dimensions

It is according what Westfield body you have got. The 'standard body' (the first post lit) is slightly narrower and shroter than 'book', whereas the later 'wide body' is longer and (you've guessed it) wider.
