Uninstall outlook express (go to control panel, add remove programs, windows components). The reinstall.
Probably wont work, but worth a try.
Alternatively, do a system restore (running xp?) back to before it stopped working.

You can always copy the outlook.pst and archive.pst file usually c:/data and settings/<loginname>/microsoft/office.outlook from my head, but
just do a search on c:\ for *.pst.
Place them in my docs then when you have it running again file import select outlook.pst and bobs your uncle. Or do what i did last time round, copy
them back then open outlook for the first time in a new os and let it get confused... what i have data? but ive not run before? error error error etc
etc etc.

It looks like Outlook file directories are rodgered this will be why Outlaw isn't working and Thunderbird can't import. Unless you have
backups u r stuffed.
Start from scratch use Thunderbird for mail and keep it backed up with Mozbackup ( http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/ )
When exposed to the internet Windows is just another name for trouble.

Just a case of entering your mail server, user name and passwords normally Thunderbird would copy this from Outlooks settings but for obvious
reasons it can't.
Your ISP sign up details should have this info.
