it runs thanks guys
thanks for all the info on what to disconnect on the electrics. it fired up 1st time after i changed the fuel pump for some strange reason the blade
one seemed to be air locking. how are you guys making the throttle pedal a little heavier mine doesn't appear to have any feel to it you only
need to touch it and up go the revs

Can you move the attachment point from the cable to the pedal closer to the pedals pivot? A little bit will go a long ways to alter the pedal to cable
travel ratio. As long as you still have full throttle with the pedal pressed to the floor that is.

after a Pinto it probably will feel rather like that to start with, but you'll soon get used to it. As Graber says if you've got full
pedal travel giving full throttle then you can't really change the ratio of pedal movement to throttle opening much more without modding the
pedal itself, although what you could do is put an extra return spring on the carbs to make it a little heavier and to help avoid the possibility of
the throttle sticking open. On my blade carbs I just got a small spring about 4cm long with hooks on either end, and then attached it down where the
second throttle cable would normally go on the carbs, so it hooked onto the U shaped bit where the outer cable would normally sit, and then onto the
throttle spindle wheel where the second cable would normally attach (in desperate need of a close-up pic of blade carbs to demonstrate!)

Or stick a nice big return spring on the pedal. Don't have a pic of mien yet, but here's one of CraigS's:

Yep can do this too, the only benefit this doesnt give is to help the throttle return. On the bike you have two cables, one to open the throttle and
one to pull it shut again. Because of this the return springs on the carbs arent quite as strong as on many car carbs so if only running one cable
they have been known to stick open on occasions.
