Jacking points

Just wondered where other choose to place the jack on their Indy?

Is there a 'best' place to jack the back and front?

Rich.

I use the diff at the rear, at the front I use the front cross member with some cardboard to protect the powder coating. I wasn't really sure about the front but it doesn't seem to have done it any harm

Cheers

Likewise, I use the diff at the rear and the front cross member immediately in front of the engine at the front. I use a thin bit of plywood to protect the diff/chassis, but my trolley jack (Blue Point 2.5 ton) only just fits under the chassis rails.

I figured it's better to jack from a central point and raise the whole fron or rear, rather than jacking on a corner and risk twisting the chassis unduly.

Nick

Thanks guys, will use the diff and the front chassis rail then as others have done.

Can also pass on a tip that I find handy. If you want to rest the car on something then the bulk packs of paper work a treat, I have two bulk boxes and you just use the required number of pack on top of each other.

Hope that makes sense!

Rich.
